Chirp'd

Chirp'd is a mobile app that makes it easier for the user to sort and find the tweets and attachments from the accounts they follow by user, date, or location.

The Challenge

Help Twitter users sort, filter and feature tweets and media attachments by the people they follow with parameters set by the user. Chirp'd accomplishes this by connecting to Twitter's REST API.

In order to accomplish Chirp'd's goal, the following needed to be considered:

  • Identify the pain points of Twitter's default newsfeed.
  • Translate the organizing process into a digital product.
  • Validate the product market fit of this idea.

During the initial user research phase, I created personas to understand a clearer definition of the target audience. I wanted to validate the premises behind our thinking before we started designing and building the MVC.

Each persona was given a unique background and reason for wanting to use the app.

The Process

I ran a design sprint in two weeks where I prototyped and tested tweet filtering flows for the mobile app. Below is my two week design process.

I researched, wireframed and designed the app's interface. I tried to maintain their original brand style guide as requested by Chirp'd.

Wireframes

Based on my task flows and user needs, I developed the wireframes for Chirp'd. I used Sketch because it fits my illustration needs, is my prefered design software, and provides me with rapid results. I export the files to .pdf and .psd formats for the whole team to use. The developers use these wireframes to develop the app, so communication was important between all stakeholders.

Mockups

Below are some of the style guide specs I used. These are some of the final mocks I have for the app. It is the same style that Chirp'd follows.
